Manson (lower body) was a full participant in the morning skate but is a game-time decision on Wednesday vs. Detroit.

Caleb Jones entered the Avalanche lineup on Monday, replacing Manson, who could return from a lower-body injury on Wednesday against the Detroit Red Wings. Manson has gone without a point in 12 straight games but has tallied a whopping 31 hits over that time.

Josh Manson
Andersen (blood clots) has not been cleared to return but his comeback remains "just around the corner".

Andersen was diagnosed with deep-vein thrombosis and subsequent pulmonary embolisms in November. He has actively participated in practice the last several weeks and should return to the lineup imminently. Anderson has a 2.87 GAA and .894 SV% in six games this season (4-1-0), and at the very least, he will likely return to a timeshare between the pipes.

Frederik Andersen
Bordealeau has been recalled from the San Jose Barracuda (AHL).

Bordeleau was called up on Wednesday in correspondence to Ty Emberson (lower-body) being placed on injured reserve. The 22-year-old Bordeleau played six games with the Sharks earlier this season but has spent most of the 2023-24 campaign with the Barracuda (AHL), tallying 25 points (11G / 14A) in 35 games.

Thomas Bordeleau
Georgiev is expected to start on Wednesday vs. Detroit.

Georgiev had the night off on Monday and has served as the backup in three of the last six, but will return to the crease on Wednesday against the Detroit Red Wings. The 28-year-old Georgiev was unsuccessful in his last outing, allowing four goals on 34 shots (.882 SV%) in a 5-1 loss to the Nashville Predators and has allowed four goals in two of his last three (1-2-0). The Avalanche were defeated 2-1 in overtime by the Red Wings two weeks ago but enter action as -193 home favourites on Wednesday night.

Alexandar Georgiev
The Florida Panthers have acquired Vladimir Tarasenko from the Ottawa Senators.

Tarasenko joined the Senators in the offseason on a one-year contract, a move that did not materialize for the club as they are trending towards another season without playoff hockey. On Wednesday, the Panthers acquired Tarasenko from the Senators in return for a conditional 2024 fourth-round pick and a 2025 third-round pick, with Ottawa retaining half of his salary. Tarasenko was playing some of his best hockey of the season before the trade, scoring nine points (4G / 5A) in his last 13 games.

Vladimir Tarasenko
Johnson (trade-related) will not play on Wednesday vs. Toronto.

Johnson has been out of the lineup since February 27th due to an undisclosed injury and will remain out on Wednesday in anticipation of a potential trade. The veteran defender has only three points (3G / 0A) in 50 games this season and has been held off the scoresheet in 16 straight.

Erik Johnson
Luukkonen will start on Wednesday in Toronto.

The Sabres will turn to Luukkonen between the pipes on Wednesday for a season-high ninth straight start. Luukkonen last played on Sunday, allowing three goals on 33 shots (.909 SV%) in a 5-2 losing effort against the Winnipeg Jets. The Sabres enter action as +153 road underdogs against a Toronto Maple Leafs squad they handily defeated 9-3 in December.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen
Greaves has been reassigned to the Cleveland Monsters (AHL) on Wednesday.

Greaves' reassignment to the AHL indicates that Elvis Merzlikins is likely ready to return from an upper-body injury. The 22-year-old Greaves played well in two games for the Blue Jackets earlier this season but has spent the majority of his time with the Cleveland Monsters (AHL), posting a solid 2.88 GAA and .910 SV% in 37 contests (25-9-3).

Jet Greaves
Konecny practice in a full contact jersey for the first time since his injury on Wednesday.

Konecny has not played since February 21st, missing six games with an upper-body injury, but appears to be nearing a return after being a full participant at practice on Wednesday. Before his injury, Konecy was producing at a blistering pace, scoring 12 points (5G / 7A) during a seven-game point streak. The Flyers return to the ice on Thursday against the Florida Panthers.

Travis Konecny
Nichuskin (personal) is doubtful for Wednesday vs. Detroit but is hopeful to play on Friday vs. Minnesota.

Nichushkin has not played since January 10th before entering the NHL's Player Assistance program. He has missed 19 games and, after returning to practice last week, appears ready to rejoin the Avalanche on Friday but has stated he is still undecided on his return. Before his absence, Nichushkin was scoring at a torrid pace with 21 points (19G / 9A) in his last 15 games.

Valeri Nichushkin
Giordano (concussion) skated for the first time on Wednesday at Toronto's optional morning skate.

Giordano played only 3:09 time-on-ice before exiting the Maple Leafs' 4-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes on February 29th with an upper-body injury in the first period. The 40-year-old Giordano had just returned from a five-game absence for personal reasons and has missed considerable time already this season.
