Gibson was with the team today, but did not practice with them. He went onto the ice after and took shots for the first time since suffering the groin injury. He is still a ways away from being ready, but with the addition of Ilya Bryzgalov, he is expected to go to the AHL anyways.

Hamonic will miss his sixth consecutive game with an upper-body injury. He was on the ice for the Islanders morning skate on Monday, but won’t be back tonight. The Islanders next game is on Friday in Detroit, monitor Hamonic’s status leading up to Friday.

With Henrik Lundqvist getting the call last night, it looks like it will be Talbot tonight in Edmonton. He allowed three goals on 34 shots in a loss to the Red Wings in his last outing. Even though he is 1-3-0 with a 3.06 GAA and .895 SV% on the road, if you need a Sunday spot-start, you won’t find a better option than this.

Gibson skated for the first time since suffering a groin injury on October 30th. Gibson said “tomorrow is a big day to see how he responds to today’s practice.” Gibson remains without a timeline and is expected to go back to the AHL when he returns to full health.

The Anaheim Ducks recently brought in veteran goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov so the expectation is that Gibson will get sent down and play the remainder of the season with Norfolk (AHL). Gibson played well, going 2-2-0 with 2.28 GAA and .927 SV% before getting hurt, but it looks like the Ducks believe it will be best for his development if he heads back to the AHL. Obviously, how long he stays down there will all depend on injuries and the play of Bryzgalov and Frederik Andersen, as well as Gibson’s with Norfolk.

Hamonic’s placement on IR is retroactive to December 2nd, which means he is eligible to return in the Isles game vs. the Wild next Tuesday. Griffin Reihart fill-in well for Hamonic last night, so the Isles likely aren't too concerned.

Talbot stopped all 26 shots that he faced in the Rangers’ 3-0 shutout win over the Flyers on November 28th. Talbot has posted back-to-back shutouts while stopping all 57 shots that he has faced. He draws a tough matchup tonight vs. the Red Wings’ offence, who rank 4th in the NHL with 3.12 G/PG.

Hamonic was injured on a hit by Chris Neil in Tuesday’s win over the Senators. Hamonic did not even make the trip to Ottawa for tonight’s rematch. He is listed as day-to-day. Griffin Reinhart, who was recalled on Wednesday should slide into the lineup for Hamonic.

Hamonic was injured on a hit from Senators’ forward Chris Neil in last night’s win. Head coach Jack Capuano said that Hamonic is day-to-day. Monitor his status in advance of Thursday’s rematch in Ottawa.

Chiarot, 23, has nine points (4G / 5A) in 24 games with St. John’s this season. He has just one game of NHL experience, but could make his season debut tomorrow with Tobias Enstrom on IR with a lower-body injury.

Gibson has been out with a groin injury since November 3rd and his recovery is on schedule with his original diagnosis of about six weeks. The six week mark is actually December 16th so he should be back between the middle of December to Christmas.

Talbot stopped all 31 shots in the Rangers 2-0 win over the Flyers on November 19th. It was Talbot’s first win of the season and he will take on the Flyers again today looking for win number-2. He makes for a solid spot-start against a Philly team who have lost six of their last seven.

Talbot allowed five goals on 31 shots in the Rangers 5-4 loss to the Maple Leafs on November 8th. The Rangers are 1-2-2 in their last five games behind Henrik Lundqvist, so Talbot will get a chance to pick up his first win of the season tonight vs. the Flyers. Philly ranks third in the NHL in scoring, but are a .500 team, making Talbot a decent spot-start option in a quiet night in the NHL.

Talbot allowed three goals on 34 shots in a loss to the Blues on Monday. He will make his second start of the week in the front end of the Rangers’ back-to-back. He will take on the Leafs who have dropped two in a row and sit sixth in the Atlantic Division at 6-5-2.

The Rangers have a back-to-back set coming up this weekend, so it looks like they will go with Talbot on Saturday in Toronto and then Henrik Lundqvist at home vs. the Oilers on Sunday. The previous days practice is not as good of an indication as the game day skate, but we will revisit this on Saturday.

Gibson was scheduled to start Sunday's game, but was a late scratch because he suffered an injury. He was reevaluated on Tuesday and it was determined that he suffered some kind of groin injury that will keep him out for a month and a half. The Ducks have recalled Igor Bobkov to play with Jason LaBarbera while Gibson and Frederik Andersen are sidelined.

Gibson was the Ducks scheduled starter on Sunday night, but he suffered a lower-body injury in warmups and did not dress. Frederik Andersen did not dress either due to 'minor leg tightness' so Jason LaBarbera had to make his third start in three nights (started FRI and SAT in AHL) with goalie consultant Dwayne Roloson serving as his backup. Gibson will be examined on Monday.

Gibson has won two of three with a 1.02 GAA and .964 SV% since being recalled, so I think it safe to say he has earned tonight's start. If you were able to buy-low on Gibson last week, give yourself a high-five. He will have Jason LaBarbera as his backup tonight with Frederik Andersen out with "minor league tightness".

Talbot stopped all 12 shots that he faced in a relief effort of Henrik Lundqvist on October 12th. He only made two appearances in October, but the Rangers said he will see more playing time in the month of November. He has allowed four goals on 35 shots (.886 SV%) this season.
