Hamonic was a surprise addition on Thursday, slotting in for the injured Simon Edvinsson (lower-body). Hamonic will skate with Axel Sandin-Pellikka on Detroit's third pair.

Edvinsson was a surprise scratch on Thursday, with no announcement being made in regards to his absence prior to being listed as a scratch on the official roster report. Travis Hamonic will draw into the lineup in his place.

John Gibson was between the pipes for Wednesday's win over the Maple Leafs, so it will be Talbot's turn when the Red Wings play their second game in as many nights on Thursday. Talbot was unfortunate to be tagged with the loss in his last start, losing 3-0 in Boston back on January 13th despite allowing just two goals on 40 shots. The 38-year-old netminder has largely taken a back seat to Gibson of late thanks to the latter's incredible form, but Talbot does still own a respectable 11-7-3 record on the season. Perron is averaging only 13:26 time-on-ice, his lowest total since his rookie season in 2007-08, but he has remained productive, with 25 points (10G / 15A) in 49 games. That said,the 37-year-old veteran forward will be sidelined into March because of a sports hernia injury.

Gibson has been outstanding in recent weeks, helping the Red Wings compete for first place in the Eastern Conference, and he will return to the crease on Wednesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Talbot will get the nod for the tail-end of Detroit's back-to-back after serving as John Gibson's backup on Monday. He had been held off the scoresheet in 11 straight games.

John Leonard will draw back into Detroit's lineup on Monday against the Ottawa Senators, making Danielson a healthy scratch. The 21-year-old Danielson is in his first NHL season and has seven points (2G / 5A) in 28 games.
