Gibson gave up five goals on 33 shots in the Ducks shootout win against the Islanders last Saturday. Over the last month, Gibson has gone 3-4-1 with a 2.91 GAA and .894 SV% in his last eight starts. It has been an up-and-down season for Gibson, who was shelled in his first game vs. Vegas. The Golden Knights scored five goals on 49 shots(!!!) in a 5-2 win over Gibson and the Ducks in late-October.
Appleton was recently assigned to Manitoba after returning to full health but was called up on Wednesday with Andrew Copp going on IR. Appleton has one assist in four AHL games and no points in nine NHL games this season. He is expected to skate on the third line with Adam Lowry and Gabriel Bourque on Thursday.
Winnipeg head coach Paul Maurice announced on Wednesday that Copp is week-to-week and isn't expected to play before the Christmas break, so his move to IR opens up a roster spot for Mason Appleton to be called-up from Manitoba (AHL).
Copp was forced to leave Tuesday's game vs. the Hurricanes with an upper-body injury and head coach Paul Maurice doesn't expect him to play before Christmas. Copp will be re-evaluated and the Jets will likely release a more detailed timetable before the break.

Talbot stopped 46 of the 48 shots that he faced in the Flames win in Arizona last Tuesday. Talbot has been impressive in his last two starts, going 2-0 while stopping 76 of the 81 shots (.938 SV%). He draws a tough matchup with the Penguins in town. Pittsburgh has gone 5-1-0 in their last six, will get Evgeny Malkin back tonight and will limit Talbot's goal-support.

Quick will be making his fourth consecutive start on Saturday but comes in having lost four of this last five (1-3-1) while posting a 2.55 GAA and .902 SV%. Today he faces a Rangers team that ranks eighth in the NHL in goal-scoring (3.23 GF/gm).
Larkin is not feeling well and missed the morning skate on Thursday morning. Head coach Jeff Blashill called him doubtful but the Red Wings' No.1 centre remains a game-time decision.
Talbot allowed three goals on 33 shots in the Flames win over the Kings on Saturday. It was Talbot's first start since mid-November but now he'll start for the second time in three games with the Flames in Arizona on the tail-end of a back-to-back. Talbot has gone 1-3-0 with a 3.29 GAA and .890 SV% on the road this season.

Tonight he faces the Wild for the second time this season--he gave up three goals on 25 shots in a 4-2 loss in the first meeting and Minnesota comes into tonight having won five of their last six while scoring 4.00 goals per game.
Appleton has been on IR since mind-October but has been cleared to play, so he goes to the AHL to get some games in. Since he was last in the lineup, the Jets have added Nick Shore via waivers, bulking up their bottom-6 depth and allowing them to send Appleton to the AHL.
Talbot allowed six goals on 37 shots in the Flames loss in Vegas on November 17th. David Rittich has started the last seven games but Talbot will get a start tonight vs. the Kings. He is 1-5-0 with a 3.23 GAA and .893 SV% six starts this season and isn't a great option, even against a Kings team that played last night.
Hamonic missed the last six games with a lower-body injury but will play Thursday vs. the Sabres. Hamonic has one goal and three assists in 23 games this season.
Gibson left Sunday's practice early and will not be available for Monday's game because he is sick. Ryan Miller will get the nod vs. the Kings and Anthony Stolarz is up from San Diego (AHL) and will serve as his backup.
