Perfetti will make his NHL debut on Wednesday.

Perfetti was the No.10 overall pick in 2020 and spent the 2021 season in Manitoba (AHL), where he had nine goals and 17 assists (26 points) in 32 games. In his debut, he will skate on the third line with Adam Lowry and Jansen Harkins.

Scheifele (suspension) will not play Wednesday vs. the Ducks.

Scheifele will serve the final game of his suspension that was handed down by the NHL during the postseason for his hit on Jake Evans. With Scheifele out for the season opener, Paul Stastny is expected to centre the Jets' top line and Pierre-Luc Dubois should see time on PP1.

The Capitals have claimed Axel Jonsson-Fjallby off waivers from the Sabres.

Jonsson-Fjallby was claimed off of waivers by the Sabres last week but quickly returns to Washington. The Capitals were the only team to put a claim in for Jonsson-Fjallby, so he was eligible to be sent to the AHL. The 23-year-old winger had 10 goals and five assists (15 points) in 31 games with Hershey last season.

The Kraken have signed Chris Driedger to a three-year, $10.5 million contract.

Driedger's selection in the Expansion Draft was the worst kept secret of the process. The 27-year-old has been outstanding over the last two seasons, leading the NHL in GAA (2.07) and SV% (.931) while going 21-8-4 in 34 starts. Driedger will get a shot to be a No.1 for the first time in his career with Vitek Vanecek serving as his backup.
