Gibson will start Friday vs. the Panthers.

Gibson stopped all 37 shots that he faced in the Ducks’ shutout win in Minnesota on Tuesday. He has gone 2-3-0 with a 2.49 GAA and .923 SV% in the first half of February and will take on the Panthers for the second time in a few weeks tonight. He stopped 35 of 37 shots (.946 SV%) in a 2-1 loss in Florida on February 3rd.

The Predators have sent Marek Mazanec to Milwaukee (AHL).

Mazanec didn’t get into a game during his time with the Predators, instead he allowed Juuse Saros to get playing time in the AHL during the bye week. Mazanec returns to the AHL, where he’s gone 13-11-0 with a 2.68 GAA and .908 SV%.

Marek Mazanec
The Predators have recalled Juuse Saros from Milwaukee (AHL).

Saros and Marek Mazanec continue to swap spots so they can each get playing time. Saros was with Milwaukee over their bye week and is now 13-2-0 with a 1.86 GAA And .934 SV% in 15 AHL games. He returns to the NHL, where Pekka Rinne will see the majority of the playing time, but Saros is 5-5-2 with a 2.09 GAA and .933 SV% with Nashville this season.

Juuse Saros
Franson (foot) is expected to play this weekend.

Franson was expected to miss 2-3 weeks, but has only missed four games over the last week and is expected to play either Saturday vs. the Blues or Sunday vs. the Blackhawks. The Sabres play tomorrow afternoon, so expect an update around 11a.m. ET.

Cody Franson
Schneider will start Saturday vs. the Islanders.

Schneider allowed two goals on 34 shots in the Devils’ 2-0 loss to the Senators on Thursday. Schneider has gone 3-2-1 with a 2.17 GAA and .933 SV% in six February starts and tonight he’ll make his firsts start of the season vs. the Islanders. Schneider comes into the game at 12-7-3 with a 2.40 GAA and .919 SV% on home ice this season.

Cory Schneider
The Ducks have sent Shea Theodore to San Diego (AHL).

Theodore failed to record a point while playing in five straight games, and will head back to San Diego (AHL), which suggests Sami Vatanen (lower-body) will return to the lineup. Theodore has fallen behind Brandon Montour on the depth chart, which is why he’s heading back and Montour stays.

Shea Theodore
Gibson was the first goalie off of the ice.

John Gibson
Mrazek was in the starter's crease on Friday.

Mrazek allowed one goal on 28 shots in the Red Wings’ 2-0 loss to St. Louis on Wednesday. Mrazek has played a lot better in February, posting a 2.51 GAA and a .926 SV%, but that has only translated into a 2-3-1 record. On of those losses came vs. the Capitals—he allowed five goals on 30 shots in a 6-3 loss in Washington on February 9th.

Petr Mrazek
Ward starts Friday vs. the Avalanche.

Ward allowed five goals on 27 shots in the Hurricanes’ loss in Dallas last Saturday. It was a rough outing for Ward, who will get the call in the first came after their bye week. The veteran netminder is 15-5-1 with a 2.27 GAA and .919 SV% in 22 starts on home ice and draws a great matchup against the NHL’s worst club tonight.

Cam Ward
The Penguins have recalled Cameron Gaunce from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL).

Gaunce, 26, had two assists in three games with the Penguins earlier this season and he’s back because Olli Maatta got hurt last night vs. the Jets. Gaunce, who has 13 points (2G / 11A) in 47 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) this season, is expected to play tonight.

Cameron Gaunce
Schultz left Thursday's game with an undisclosed injury; questionable for Friday.

Schultz played just 8:40 before leaving Thursday’s game with an undisclosed injury. The Penguins also lost Olli Maatta last night, so if Schultz can’t go tonight they will be without two of their regular six defensemen. The Penguins recalled two blueliners this morning, which isn’t a great sign for Schultz owners.

Justin Schultz
Maatta underwent successful hand surgery and is expected to miss six weeks.

Maatta played just 7:38 before leaving last night’s game with a hand injury. The Penguins quickly announced that he underwent surgery and will likely miss the remainder of the regular season. Expect the Penguins to place him on LTIR to create a roster spot and earn some cap relief ahead of the 2017 trade deadline.

Olli Maatta
Bobrovsky will likely start Friday vs. the Penguins.

Bobrovsky allowed three goals on 23 shots in the Blue Jackets’ loss to the Rangers on Monday. Bobrovsky has been on the losing end in six of his last eight starts while posting a 3.21 GAA and .890 SV%. He has cooled down considerably and tonight he will face a really good Penguins team for the third time—he is 1-0-1 with a 2.43 GAA and .915 SV% in the first two meetings.
