Svechnikov did not play in the third period of Wednesday's win over the Capitals, but head coach Rod Brind'Amour said he doesn't think it's too serious. The Hurricanes are off on Thursday, so there likely won't be an update on Svechnikov's status until Friday.

The Kraken will hand Daccord his 50th start of the season when they travel to Vancouver to take on the Canucks on Wednesday. Daccord struggled in his last start, allowing four goals on 20 shots in a 5-1 loss to the Stars on Saturday. The 28-year-old netminder owns a 24-20-5 record on the season to go along with a .907 SV%. Suniev was a third-round pick, 80th overall, of the Calgary Flames in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. The 20-year-old forward has spent the previous two seasons playing collegiate hockey with UMass-Amherst (H-East), including scoring 38 points (20G / 18A) in 35 games in 2024-25.
