Frederik Andersen will start Thursday for the Hurricanes

Andersen opened the week by stopping 22 of 23 shots in a 5-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken Monday. After finishing fourth in Vezina voting in 2021-22, Andersen has continued his impressive play to start this season allowing only two goals on 55 shots to bring him to a .964 SV% and 1.00 GAA while winning his first two starts. The undefeated Hurricanes head to Edmonton to take on Connor McDavid and the 1-2-0 Edmonton Oilers who are looking to end a two-game losing streak.

Colorado Avalanche coach Jared Bednar has stated Devon Toews is still being evaluated after last night, with the team expected to have more information on the injury Friday. In four games so far in 2022-23, the 28-year-old defenseman has three points (0G/3A) with four SOG while holding a +1 plus/minus rating. If he misses time it will be a huge loss for the Avalanche who just announced yesterday that their captain Gabriel Landeskog will miss 12 weeks due to knee surgery.

Shesterkin will start Thursday vs. the Sharks.

Shesterkin will get the start Thursday after stopping 18 of 22 shots in his last start, leading to a shakey 6-4 win Monday over Anaheim. The superstar's run at back-to-back Vezina trophies has started with an undefeated record (3-0-0) in 2022-23, to go alongside his .919 SV% and 3.05 GAA. He faces San Jose, who has yet to win this season through their first five games due to their league-worst 1.6 GF per game and 5.3% powerplay.

Ingram will start Thursday in Montreal.

Connor Ingram will make his Arizona debut Thursday as the Coyotes head to Montreal to take on the Canadiens. Ingram was claimed off waivers from Nashville prior to the regular season after finishing 2021-22 with an .879 SV% across only three starts.He will hope the Coyotes can produce more pucks on the net as their 23.7 SOG/GP currently ranks them 30th in the NHL. The Canadiens will be looking for their third win of the season after topping Pittsburgh 3-2 on Monday night.

Comrie was brilliant stealing a 4-2 win on the back of 46 saves on 48 shots as the Sabres beat the Oilers Tuesday. Through two starts with the Sabres, he is 1-1-0 with an impressive .929 SV%. He will draw the tough matchup Thursday of the undefeated Calgary Flames (3-0-0) who is averaging four GF through their first three games.

Hill will get his second start of 2022-23 Thursday after stopping 31 of 33 shots in his Vegas debut in a 5-2 win over the Seattle Kraken last week. The netminder has backed up Logan Thompson for two of Vegas' three victories on the season and will be hoping to keep his .952 SV% in check when the Golden Knights host the Jets on Thursday. The Jets play their second game in as many nights after beating the Avalanche 4-3 in overtime last night.

The two-year extension will start at the beginning of the 2023-24 season, with an AAV of $2,200,000. He will continue to back up Jacob Markstrom until at least 2026 after collecting 14 wins in his first 20 starts since coming to Calgary in 2021-22. He holds a career .902 SV% and 2.88 GAA in three NHL seasons.

Markstrom stopped 19 of 21 shots winning his second straight game Tuesday as Calgary beat Vegas 3-2. Calgary is undefeated at 3-0-0 but Markstrom has not looked his usual self, amassing a .891 SV% and a 2.50 GAA in two winning starts so far in 2022-23. His Flames will host the 2-1-0 Buffalo Sabres who are coming off a 4-2 victory over Edmonton on Thursday.
